THE SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM, DISCIPLESHIP AND
 RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Through a year-long program of study, students
receive in-depth training in evangelization and
discipleship which enables them to become
missionaries, church planters, and do evangelism
training within the local church.

Students come not only from Congo but also from neighboring countries. In the 20 years since the school's inception, hundreds of African leaders have been trained and are serving the Lord faithfully in Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi.

The students are also trained
in horticulture and animal husbandry with the goal of helping them become self-sustaining in their individual ministries after graduation.

This ministry is diversifying thanks to the generous support of sisters in Christ here in America.

Sewing Project was begun to help the women learn to sew and have a means to support their families.  Bible study and prayer are incorporated into their class time. To date, 11 women have graduated and another class began in Feb. 2010.

Also, each woman who graduated received her own sewing machine                                         a gift from women in the U.S.!!

The CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY is one of the largest groups in the Church.  Over 100 children attending church services each week and participate in their Christian Education program.

LKCC MEDICAL CLINIC

The "Health Zone" covered by the Clinic provides medical care for over 10,000 impoverished people.

Staffed by 7 nurses, 1 laboratory technician, and 1 receptionist, the Clinic sees about 25 patients per day and delivers about 30 babies per month. There is no doctor assigned to the Clinic but a government doctor is supposed to visit once a month

The Clinic building has 2 exam rooms, a small pharmacy, a labor room, a delivery room, and 3 rooms for hospitalized patients.   Equipment is minimal and there are few drugs in the pharmacy.

In Sept. 2009, the government officially turned over the supervision of this medical clinic to LKCC opening up many opportunities to upgrade the clinic and its services.

LKCC PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Primary School provides a Christian education for the 686 students currently enrolled.

There are 14 different classes with an average class size of about 50 students with 1 teacher.

Due to overcrowding, 2 classes meet at Patmos Church.

There is no free education in Congo so only students who can pay the minervale (tuition) can attend school.  [Tuition is currently about $3.50 per month!]

Many students who cannot pay tuition but who show promise are being welcomed by dedicated Christian teachers who serve faithfully with little pay.
